Back in Miami

We are back in Miami with Hector, Andres and all of our friends. Danny arrives on Wednesday from Virginia. At last we'll be together not having my illness as the main concern. God has already done His part and now we're responsible to manage well the treatment the doctors have prescribed.
The first three days with the antibiotics were a disaster. The fever came back worse than ever with her two friends, chills and abundant sweating. It seems that the brucella was taking revenge for having discovered her and for sending the powerful antibiotics that only means that her days are counted.
But all of that is over. By now the fever is almost gone and little by little I feel how my energy levels are coming back. I have no idea how long it will take to fully recuperate, but it doesn't matter, God is filling my body and spirit with His energy. One day soon, we'll be ready to continue working on the mission He has given to us.
The process we have now started will not be easy. We need to change the way we eat, work, rest, the way we live. It will require lots of self control and discipline. We will need your prayers probably more than ever. We'll need to be surrounded by family and friends to keep us accountable for these commitments. It might even be harder than the illness itself.
It's not just stop ingesting unpasteurized cheese and milk. We want to learn to eat well, so that our bodies get the attention and care they need to sustain us for more decades of service to the King and others.
Last night we attended our son Hector's church here in Miami. The special Christmas service was a special reminder that the Christmas season has only one purpose: to celebrate Jesus as Lord and Savior of humankind. It's Him we celebrate, all our thoughts and joy must be focused in Him and what He has done for us.
Together with Luchy, Hector, Danny and Andres, we wish for you the happiest of Christmas with your family and friends. Our prayer is that Jesus will be the center of everything. Everything else is secondary.

Until next time....

  1. Have a blessed Christmas and praise God for all the medical attention you were able to get to get to the bottom of the problem. Adjusting to a new liefestyle will probably be challenging at first but once you start your body will adjust.

We'll keep praying and we'll keep you posted if we make it to Miami, we may be able to catch you before you head back.

God bless and enjoy this precious time of year wiht family and friends!

    In Christ,

  4. Dad, i believe Tupac said it best when he said:

    "We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive."

Hahahaha. But seriously. Tupac had nuggets of gold from time to time.
